A 2024 survey from AARP reports that 75% of people age 50+ would prefer to remain in their home as they age. Beyond honoring that preference, allowing people to stay in their homes has other benefits.
As you age, the comfort found in familiar surroundings becomes more important.
Maintaining your daily or weekly routines is easier at home.
You can keep the family pets, which are often difficult to have at facilities.
You can get one-on-one care from your home health caregiver.
Living at home reduces your exposure to pathogens that are transmitted in group settings.
Having a caregiver provides companionship to prevent isolation and loneliness.
Aging in place lets you maintain your independence and control of your life, including control over who your caregiver is.

First, reach out to us and let us know a bit about your situation. An owner or manager will meet with you to assess whether Just a Little Help will be a good fit.
In the second step, our on-staff nurse evaluates every potential client before engaging in a contract for care. Finally, we make a plan with you for the times and days that caregivers are needed and our staff will match you with the caregiver who has the appropriate skills to meet your needs.

If you're the primary person providing care for a friend or family member, you understand that you can’t do it all by yourself, all of the time. That approach isn’t good for you or for the person who needs care. Sometimes you have an obligation elsewhere, or you are simply are exhausted and in need of a break.
That’s where respite care from Just a Little Help comes in. When you need someone to fill in for you, call us and one of our caregivers will provide temporary help to give you the time you need.

Just a Little Help is locally-owned and woman-owned, not part of a national chain corporation.
As an independent, boutique business, the owner meets all of the clients personally and she makes the bottom line decisions. We can be more flexible than an in-home care franchise that is nationwide. We adjust our caregiving schedule and services to fit your needs.
We also provide some services that are hard to find, such as escorting clients to weddings, family events, and other outings. We provide transportation for such occasions, too. Our care services also include taking clients to routine appointments and running errands with them.

Our rates reflect our company's core value of paying caregivers a living wage and are based upon the level of care needed. Please contact us to discuss your situation. We are always happy to work with your schedule and budget to find the best way that we can provide you with Just A Little Help.
Clients are billed at an hourly rate for our services. If a caregiver accrues driving miles while providing client services during a shift, we also bill for those, based on the current Federal mileage rate. Rates for work done on major holidays are billed as time-and-a-half.
-
Some clients may need special services that are slightly outside the scope of what we normally provide. These services can be arranged and the rates will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
Some examples include:Moving
Deep-Cleaning a Home
Organizing and Downsizing a Household
Escorting to Special Events
Accompanying on Travel
If the service you need is not on the list, please don’t hesitate to get in touch and ask us about it.

At Just a Little Help, the success of our services relies on the success of the personal relationships between our caregivers and our clients. We understand how important relationships and routine can be to health and wellness, so we also understand that it can be disruptive to have different caregivers.
We do our utmost to ensure clients have consistent caregivers. Unless there are circumstances that make having a different caregiver unavoidable, you will see the same caregiver, or team of caregivers, at their regular shifts. Additionally, if the assigned caregiver turns out not to be a good match, our clients have the right request a different one.

Our selection process is demanding. We do local and national background checks to ensure we never hire someone with a criminal record. We do multiple interviews to determine whether a potential hire is truly caring, flexible, and warm-hearted. We require previous caregiving experience and that work experience must be verifiable.
Our caregivers need to be fluent in English, have an insured and dependable vehicle they can use on the job, and have a good driving record. Most of our caregivers are referred to us by other caregivers, so our reliable crew helps to grow itself!

We provide our caregivers with ongoing CPR and caregiving training. They take monthly online courses through an accredited training provider, WellSky, and are supervised by our Training Manager. While they are on shift and working with clients, they have regularly-scheduled supervisory visits by our managers and our on-staff nurse, who provide them with feedback and ensure they are providing quality care.

Some long-term insurance companies do cover our care and we will help you to complete the paperwork required by your insurance company. Regular health insurance does not cover our services and Medicare does not cover them.

Standard Care: When you need a caregiver over a longer-term or indefinite period of time, you’ll be on our Standard Care schedule. Our Standard Care shifts for ongoing, regular care have a four-hour minimum. We'll take care of a variety of tasks during a shift, tailored to your wants and requirements.
A la Carte Care: When you need a really little bit of help, you can use our à la carte services. Contact owner Sarah Graham to discuss the specific tasks you need done, then one of our caregivers will come during a pre-arranged window of time and take care of those tasks during a “mini-shift” that lasts less than four hours.
Also available as an à la carte service is transportation to and from day surgery, including staying with the patient post-surgery as long as prescribed.
